Olaria do Castelo

Alto Alentejo

Next door to the castle, this studio and shop displays the beautifully crafted ceramic works of artist Luis Pedras. He's most famous for his ronca, a kind of friction-percussion instrument with African origins that's played by traditional groups around Christmastime.

Across the street, Pedras also runs the restaurant Pedras do Castelo, where you can see more of his work (and eat well).
