Mercato

Alto Alentejo

This lively, cheerfully decorated tavern serves traditional flavours with contemporary verve. Nicely turned out plates of garlic and olive-oil clams, or garlic prawns are great for sharing, as are the tabuas (boards) of local cheeses and cured meats. Aside from good wines by the glass, Mercato also serves Alentejo craft beer by the likes of duMato and Barona.

The place gets packed, so reserve ahead.
