Uiltje Brewing Co

Top choice in Haarlem

At its brewery 4km northeast of Haarlem's centre, Uiltje has a lively bar area and sunny courtyard where you can try its 10 draught and two cask beers, and an attached bottle shop for stocking up. Regular events include bonfire nights, live-music gigs and barbecues. It also runs 40-minute behind-the-scenes tours (English available, per person €12.50 including two beers).

Look out for signature brews like Miss Hooter (IPA), Wingman (watermelon Weisse beer), Peat the Scotchman (smoked ale) and the Christmas Tree Is on Fire (oatmeal stout).

It's a 10-minute bike ride from central Haarlem; alternatively there's a city-centre tap room.
