Issam Fares Institute

Beirut

The IFI holds the distinction of being the only Zaha Hadid-designed building in Beirut. The structure is distinctive in appearance too: it’s a cantilevered, distorted Tetris block that appears even more modern in juxtaposition to the other stolidly Methodist buildings on AUB’s campus. Offices occupy the floors, but ride the lift to the publicly accessible roof for some fun views through the oblong portals.
