La Cave du Fromager

Nice

Fromage is what fuels the convivial mood at this candlelit, brick- and stone-vaulted cellar bistro. The menu changes with the seasons but always revolves around cheese: Roquefort-broccoli soup; baked Camembert with hazelnuts, honey and calvados; hearty old-fashioned tartiflette (the classic Savoyard casserole of potatoes, lardons, onions and melted Reblochon cheese...). The new owners exude youthful energy and speak excellent English.
