Just a few kilometres outside of Philippolis, fronting a tiny ghost town called Waterkloof, this microbrewery proudly serves its signature Karoobossie and Kapokbossie ales, which are named after shrubs found on nearby farms that give local lamb a distinctly herby flavour.
The town itself is interesting for a stroll. More than 200 bird species flitting about here, including African fish eagles and the once-rare but now recovering blue cranes.
