The Chapel

Top choice in Tasmania

This hipsterish cafe is housed in a handsome decommissioned chapel and the quality of the food certainly matches the surrounds. The best cafe in Burnie (and probably the best on the north coast), it serves excellent house-roasted coffee, house-made chai and brilliant breakfasts. There are good pastries, muffins and cakes too.

On Friday night, young locals flock here to tipple on house-brewed beers, listen to live music and munch on burgers ($21 to $23) and tacos ($16).
