Auberge Aal Veinen

Luxembourg

Carved right into the rock, this welcoming two-level restaurant is renowned for its marinated meats grilled over a charcoal fire. There are also four kinds of schnitzel, charcuterie platters, Spätzle (hand-rolled noodles), salads and general good cheer. Quality is good, and quantities are generous: it's all too easy to over-order. Kids' dishes include handmade sausages, burgers and mini schnitzels.
