Abaco

Puerto de la Cruz

This sumptuous historical mansion, about 1.5km southeast of the town centre, hosts classical-music concerts on Sunday evenings and traditional Canarian folklore concerts on Wednesdays. The interior, with its period furniture, original artwork and ornate finishes, is a delight. There's also an inviting Sky Sports–free bar, although a round of drinks will cost a lot more than the round-trip taxi ride back to town.

The house museum (€10) can be explored with a guide between 10am and 1.30pm every day except Tuesday and Sunday.
