Classier than most restaurants on the strip, F has superb views over the beach from the covered terrace and contemporary Portuguese dishes such as cornbread-crumbed octopus, mackerel ceviche with tiger milk (a citrus marinade) and sweet potato, or slow-cooked suckling pig stuffed with Algarve oranges.
A rare treat is the cataplana (seafood stew) for solo diners (normally it's only for two to share).
The three-course menu (per person €45), consists of a no-choice chef's starter and dessert and the choice of salt-crusted whole fish or chateaubriand steak baked in clay, and is available for a minimum of two diners.
