Gärdby Kafe

Southeastern Sweden

Take a sidestep to this heart-warming cafe, which dates from the 1920s and oozes old-fashioned charm with its dazzling, white, stripped-back tearooms and expansive garden with well-weathered sculptures and randomly placed tables and chairs. Savoury snacks, traditional sweets, locally produced deli items and superb coffee are on offer.

Outhouses have been resurrected into small stores selling clothes and tasteful homewares, plus there’s a playhouse for children.
