Colonial Guest House

Cabo Verde

This gorgeously renovated colonial mansion facing the ocean houses the town's nicest place to stay. Run by a Danish–Cabo Verdean couple, it has rooms with antique furniture and wooden floors; some have terraces with ocean views. On the downside, some rooms lack bathrooms (though every room has its own private bathroom in the corridor).

There's also terrace with a swimming pool and a pillow-strewn inner patio. Zebra Travel is based onsite, and is the place to book tours and make onward travel arrangements, while the adjacent Fogo Lounge serves as Fogo's travellers' hub
