Rangit Valley Ropeway

Darjeeling

The scenic Rangit Valley cable car was out of action at research time due to maintenance and an administrative/legal hiatus. Ask at your accommodation whether it has reopened: the 20-minute ride takes you from North Point down to the Takvar Valley tea estate, gliding over manicured tea bushes that look like giant broccoli growing on mountain slopes. If you start early enough, you can explore the village and tea plantation before riding back up.
