Café des Palabres

Cameroon

Housed inside a 1905 colonial German residence, this charming cafe-restaurant on Bonanjo's main square has a great garden terrace perfect for an evening drink, as well as a cool interior with a full menu and an intellectual vibe. Literary types might like to know this building was identified as 'la Pagode' in Céline's Journey to the End of the Night.

The restaurant serves up excellent French dishes such as sole meunière, and don't miss their fresh bissap (hibiscus) juice.
