Café de Rat

Huaraz & the Cordilleras

Don’t mind the name, the menu has been cleared of rodents. What remains are sandwiches, pasta and, most popular of all, pizza. The cafe is run by Alberto of the downstairs Pony Expeditions and is something of a traveler's hub with a book exchange, darts, a bar and music.

Opt for a pew by the fireplace or sit on the upstairs balcony with plaza views.

You'll need to ring the doorbell to gain entry.
