This charming posada in a restored 1880 building makes a perfect base for exploring the peaceful, isolated Valle del Lunarejo, 95km north of Tacuarembó. It's 3km from the river and a few steps from a bird colony teeming with garzas (cranes) and espátulas rosadas (roseate spoonbills). The posada organizes nearby hikes and horseback rides.
