Hotel Recour

West Flanders

The main 18th-century house has a luxurious lounge and eight romantic individually themed rooms, most featuring nostalgic colour combinations, chandeliers, four-poster beds and hot tubs. A metal walkway above the garden lawn leads to seven contrastingly modern rooms, each adopting the style of a classic 20th-century designer.

Around 100m east in a separate building and approached by a doorless lift, the somewhat cheaper gastenkamers (guest rooms) are excellent too, with exposed-brick walls and beams. One has a roof terrace.
