Calou Guest House

La Digue

This well-established venture continues to go from strength to strength, adding two new rooms with an extra bed for kids, and updating the other four doubles with hardwood floors, raised ceilings, large closets and bathrooms featuring design touches such as inlaid stone surrounds. There's also a three-bedroom family house (€50 per person) at the top of the rambling property.

There's a quirky covered pool up the steps from the open-air bar, though guests can also use the more attractive pool next door at Chalets de Palma. A double with half board is an attraction option for €120.
