A few questions about a trip in late July. Here's my plan:
Friday - arrive at the airport in Cebu at 12.30 (noon). Take money out of the ATM. Take a taxi to the north bus terminal. Take a bus towards Maya and get off about 3/4 of the way in a nice place to spend the night (since I won't make the last 4.30pm boat).
Saturday - Flag down a passing bus and go to the ferry pier, then to Malapascua. Organise diving.
Sunday - do two shore dives
Monday - 2 dives (thresher sharks?)
Tuesday - 2 dives OR…
Hi, I might need to stay overnight in Manila and I wouldn't like to go too far from the airport beause I'll have to return to catch my domestic flight the following day. Do you know any good budget hostels easily reachable by taxi with money changers around as I'll have to change my money before heading to Negros. Thanks for your advice. Cheers
I will be visiting the Philippines for the first time in July and August and would appreciate some advice about currency. I will have a 2 hour stopover in Manilla before going to Bacolod and I would like to know the best place to change money. The airport or Bacolod city ? From experience, I know that the airport is the worst place to change money but are there any good places ( money changers or banks) offering good exchange rates in Bacolod ? Is it better to use a credit card or…
Just got back from a 2 week vacation in PH, and I got in love with this country!
We went to Cebu (Badian + Oslob) -> Dumaguete -> Siquijor -> Bohol and absolutely loved the people, places and trips.
Therefore, me and my wife want to go back asap.
Could you please advise some other islands that are connected by ferry within a reachable time (up to 4h)?
We prefer quieter places, away from crowds (like Alona beach) with beautiful scenery. Palawan is out of discussion :)
Hey y'all! Got tired of scanning old posts. Boyfriend and I are traveling to the Philippines this fall..November-December for 3 weeks. What to do and see?!? We're up for pretty much anything? Flying into Manila...completely bypass and keep moving or stay a night there to get the "experience"? Favorite places? We'll have a budget close to backpacker's but can splurge on a few things.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I am going to Cebu city for a period of 2 months. Can anyone recommend a hotel, where I can negotiate a fair price if I commit myself to staying for a longer period of time ?
My budget is 1200 PHP pr day as a max - The only requirement I have is that there have to be working WIFI.

In early October this year, I will be stopping off at Manila for 7 days, following a flight from Los Angeles. I’ll have 7 days here until catching a flight to Sydney.
I’ve been reading all about the top attractions in both Manila and Philippines and have been trying to form a realistic plan about what I should see during my week there.
I’ve read that although there are some notable attractions to see in Manila, it’s not a city that has a plethora of things to do so was wondering if…
Hi folks! As a Historian and Architecture buff, I'm very interested in the Spanish heritage of the Philippines. I will like to know if there are lesser-known cities or towns in the Philippines with nice Spanish architecture (that is, besides Manila-Intramuros, Vigan and Cebu City, which are the most famous examples). Gracias for your help!
Hello people, I already took my flight for Manila, i will stay 40 days so i need the visa. I would do the visa in the Italy's embassy but i do not have the hotels booked because i will backpack, so how can i do?
I read that I could do the visa in the Manila's airport and that it is also less expensive (in Italy cost 66 euros), but do they let me enter the country with a flight ticket saying that i will stay for more than a month and no hotel booked?
Thank you so much!
