Banga-an is where the excellent 45-minute walk through rice terraces to the impressive Bomod-ok Falls begins. Access is sometimes restricted because of traditions associated with the planting and harvest seasons. A guide is mandatory (P500).
Two daily jeepneys go from Sagada to Banga-an, but they aren’t much use to day trippers as they both depart mid-afternoon. Walk or hire transport via the tourist office (P650 return) instead. Jeepneys from Banga-an to Sagada depart early in the morning.
