Air Juan connects Maasin and Cebu (via Tagbilaran) with four weekly flights.
Maasin airstrip is 13km northwest of the city.
Boat connections from all ports in Southern Leyte are subject to very frequent change due to local tides. Always check schedules in advance directly with ferry companies.
For Cebu City there are several options from Maasin: Weesam Express operates one daily fastcraft (P550, 3½ hours); Cokaliong Shipping has four weekly ferries and George & Peter Lines has one weekly ferry (P250, 5½ to six hours).
Cokaliong Shipping also connects Massin with Surigao (P325, four hours) on Wednesdays and Fridays at 8.30am.
Other ferries and fastcraft dock a bit further north of Maasin in Bato or Hilongos.
From Hilongos, Gabisan Shipping Lines has a daily fastcraft to Cebu (P280, 3½ hours) at 8.30am while Roble Shipping has a daily RORO (P240, 5½ hours) to Cebu. Medallion Transport has a daily ferry to Ubay, Bohol (P265, three hours) and there are usually supplementary bangkas on this route to Ubay too.
From Bato, Medallion Transport sails daily to Cebu (P280, six hours) at 9pm, with an extra service on Saturdays at 9am. Medallion also has a daily 9am RORO to Ubay (P270, three hours) on Bohol, and there are two daily bangkas to Ubay.
Jeepneys and multicabs head east from the bus terminal to Padre Burgos every 20 minutes or so until around 6.30pm (P30, one hour).
Duptours and Van Vans send vans from the main bus terminal to Tacloban about every hour until 5pm (P220, 3½ hours). You can also find vans to Ormoc at the bus station (P170, three hours) and occasional vans and buses to Sogod.
