Cebu in a Day

Cebu's traffic is punishing but taxis are plentiful and inexpensive so use them to explore the city. Kick off the day with a coffee and fresh croissant in Abaca, then head downtown to tour the main sights: the Museo Sugbo and Casa Gorordo museums, followed by the impressive Basilica Minore del Santo Niño and neighbouring Magellan's Cross. Next stroll down to the harbour and visit historic Fort San Pedro. Grab a late lunch of that Cebuano classic lechón (roast suckling pig) at Rico's Lechon before heading up to the Tops Lookout for a sunset drink and sweeping city vistas. In the evening head to Anzani or Cafe Laguna for dinner, then (for those with the stamina) it's a night on the town, touring the bars of Mango Sq.
