Runs two or three buses daily between Puno, Peru and La Paz, Bolivia, stopping at Copacabana in Bolivia. Buses wait for you to pass border customs, which takes between 60 to 90 minutes. Tickets to La Paz allow you to stop off for a day, or longer, in Copacabana, after which journeys continue on buses by affiliate company Vicuña Travel.
US citizens have to pay US$160 cash in US dollars for a tourist visa to enter Bolivia. This can be done at the border; shops there can help with the two necessary photos and photocopies. Also, there’s a Bolivian Consulate in Puno. Citizens of the European Union and Australia don't need to pay a fee or provide photos.
