The border town of Iñapari, 233km north of Puerto Maldonado, has regular border-crossing facilities to enter Brazil.
Maldonado Immigration Office To leave Peru via Puerto Heath (river) or Iberia (road) for Bolivia, get your passport stamped here (morning's best). Travelers can also extend their visas or tourist cards here.
Internet is slower here than in other Peruvian cities and costs about S2 per hour. There are multiple cybercafe choices along Velarde, heading southwest from the plaza. About half of the accommodations in town have decent wi-fi.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Brazilian reais and Bolivian bolivianos have become much easier to exchange here since the opening of the Carr Interocéanica: ask where is currently giving the best exchange rate.
