Huancayo is a sizable town; you’ll end up doing a lot of walking. Most actual attractions lie outside the center. In the city itself, and outside too, the focus is more on experiencing – savoring the taste of seemingly endless quality restaurants, or perhaps trying a language or handicrafts course. The most notable landmark is the Iglesia de La Merced, at the first block of Real, where the Peruvian Constitution of 1839 was approved.
