Just before the mouth of the Río Yarapa, a tributary of the Ucayali on the edge of Reserva Nacional Pacaya-Samiria, this lodge remains surrounded by water for most of the year, meaning a more intimate, isolated experience than many other lodges. Rooms are simple but securely netted against mosquitoes, and the bathrooms probably have the best views in the jungle!
The place is run by a local family, who cook superbly. The excellent guides, and the proximity of a small nearby community to which cultural trips are organized, enhances the attraction of a stay here. Travel is by bus to Nauta, then boat.
