Starting from Oxapampa we will visit the austro-german colony of Pozuzo in one day! we will see how beautiful and different is this town from the other you will see in Peru. Also the geographic place of Pozuzo makes it one of the most stunning places in the country. This zone is called as the high altitude jungle.
Pozuzo, that in the German language means “land of conquests and adventures”, is located in the province of Oxapampa of the Pasco region, in full heart of the central forest. To there they arrived on July 25, 1859 one hundred and seventy people, between Tyroleans and Prussians, led by father José Egg, in order to evangelize the zone and to establish as a perennial community.At present, Pozuzo has become a prosperous district, that is highlighted for their beautiful crafts, celebrations and historic attractions, but above all by the festive spirit of their settlers -descending of colonists and native-, which maintain the customs of their ancestros in harmony with Mother Nature and they permit the travelers the marvelous experience to be a part of their community for as long as they visit (community tourism).We will start at 6.30am from Oxapampa and visit all these places: • Franciscan Church of Quillazú. • Main square of Huancabamba. • Torrebamba Waterfall • Rayantambo Waterfall • We will go through Yanachaga Chemillen National Park • Yulitunqui Waterfall. • Prusia Town. • City tour of Pozuzo town • Pozuzo beer factory • Natural Pools “EL GUACAMAYO”
