The largest of the Mennonite communities and administrative center of Fernheim colony, Filadelfia resembles a suburb of Munich plonked in the middle of a sandy desert. Though dusty Av Hindenburg is the main street, the town lacks a real center; its soul is the giant dairy cooperative. This is a quiet and functional place, mainly agricultural, but there are a few interesting museums to keep you busy as you plan your trips into the surrounding areas.
