The Ancon Hill is a 654-foot hill that overlooks the city of Panama. It is an area that was used for the administration of the Panama Canal. It was under U.S.A. jurisdiction as part of the Panama Canal Zone until being returned to Panama in 1999, the area is now a reserve, the hill is the highest point in Panama City. What happened on January 9 of 1964, was one of the main reasons that the Torrijos-Carter treaty was made in order to get the Panama Canal back. Mi Pueblito is a place in the Ancon Hill were you can see how are the typical houses and clothes of the country, also you can get souvenirs of Panama.Note: tour not available on January 1, 8, 9; February (carnival, it change every year, you may need to contact us first), November 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 28 and December 8, 24, 25 and 31.
The tour starts by picking you up from the lobby of your hotel at 9am. The first stop will be at the Panama Canal Administration Building, where you will be able to take some pictures and be in the place were the Panamanians received the Panama Canal.The second stop will be at Mi Pueblito, where you will see how the typical clothes and houses are.The last stop will be at the top of the Ancon Hill, where you will be able to see the Panama City and the Panamanian flag, also to take some pictures there. It takes approximately 30 minutes to walk to the top of the Ancon Hill.From there, you will be taken back to your hotel around 1pm.
