It will take us only one hour out of civilization to admit us to the most pristine tropical forest inhabited and sheltered by the Embera, one of the ethnic groups originating in our country. This tour connects us with life in a natural environment, surrounded by ancient traditions, color, smiles, music and art.
Excursion only applies for clients hosted in Panama City Area.This morning we will head to the Chagres National Park located at 1:15 hour drive from Panama City. Upon arrival, we will board the famous "canoes” which are traditional Embera boats, a, carved in wood from a single tree trunk. During the 30 minutes of navigation in the waters of the Gatun River and part of the Canal watershed will enjoy a spectacular view of the forest and all kinds of animal inhabitants of this ecosystem. Finishing the trip we will spot "Emberá Querá" village which means Perfume Embera, where we will be wolcome by our friendly hosts. Starting from this moment, enjoy their music, dances, know about their culture, traditions and we will cross the village to visit their habitual residences and the "shaman" or medicine man of the tribe, we will be given a talk about the healing power of plants of the jungle. At lunch time, enjoy fish (product of the fishing of the day), green fried plantains and fruits.The Embera are excellent craftsmen, retailers and dedicated. If you like the exclusive memorabilia, we invite you to their craftmarket where you can buy true work of art and crafts that are made with seeds, fibers, natural dyes and fine wood; and if we want to carry a memory in our skin, a natural "tatto" is our option. Indigenous paint your skin with a black ink "Jagua", a local Palm seed product. The print will last several days or even weeks depending on your skin.At departure time, we embark on the boat that will take us back to the mainland and there we will board the vehicle back to Panama City.
