I'm trying to work out whether to fly or drive to Gilgit from Islamabad (in October) but can't seem to work around a few issues with the flights.

Flying would obviously be the quicker option, but the problem is reliability, and the fact that flying takes one hour, as opposed to two days for driving. This raises a number of issues with itineraries:

  • How to arrange accommodation - where I stay the first night (as well as the second-last night) depend on whether I fly or drive. Book both…

Hi,
I'm looking to take a long trek late September 2018 and would hope to arrange this locally in Islamabad on arrival. This is for two people and we're trying to take in the K2 BC and as much else as can be included. Any pointers are greatly appreciated. H

I'm planning a landscape photography trip to Hunza (as well as other areas in north Pakistan) in October and am trying to work out how to get around the valley.

Obviously I will be getting there with a hired car and driver, but how do you get around the valley itself? It's too big to walk everywhere, with points of interest being several kilometres apart (and possibly several hundred metres higher or lower). At the same time, I need to maintain a flexible itinerary, so won't be able to just…

Hi,
I will arrive at the Lahore Airport at 3.45am. I do have some questions about their check in times and procedures before I do the booking. I will be picked up from the Airport.
I checked their website but can not find their email address. Does anyone know it?
Thanks in advance

I'm planning a photography trip to Pakistan in October and am a bit stuck as to the exact timing as to when to go. I intend to shoot autumn scenery in the Hunza valley, which, I believe, usually peaks in the third week of October or thereabouts. However, I also plan to visit Fairy Meadows, the usual season for which nominally finishes at the end of September.

How late in October can you go to Fairy Meadows and still encounter greenery and not be snowbound?

How early in October do you start…

hi all, planning my first visit to Pakistan spring next year. Will have anywhere from 2-4 months, say from April-July. Would appreciate if you could recommend an itinerary. I browsed through the previous posts and saw people recommend Karachi, Chitral and the Kalash valley, Chapursan (this reminds me so much of Wakhan corridor in tajikistan; one of the best trips in my life), Gilgit and Hunza valley (Karimabad and Ganish), trek to Nanga Parbat base camp, plus a K2 gondogoro la circuit trek…

Hi - I'll be in India in November and am planning a visit to Pakistan while I'm there. I think I have the gist of the thing worked out but wanted to run it past the forum to make sure I've got it all correct. Please let me know if you see a problem with this or have comments, suggestions, etc..

I travel on a Canadian passport.

(As a note of interest, I was in Pakistan for 45 days back in 1987! The whole place was open then, I traveled from Karachi to Quetta and up to Peshawar, Gilgit and…

Hi Everybody!

me and two of my friends are planning a trip to Pakistan in May. We do yoga, and really wanted to see the Hinglaj Mata Temple, in Balochistan. But our travel agent who helps with car-transportation is very concerned with security issiue, and insists to talk us out of making a day trip to this place from Karachi.

So, is it really dangerous? are there reasons not to go there? are there bad reports from travelers going there?
