Lost City of Cheorwon DMZ Private Day Trip from Seoul

Our tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 8 a.m.. After drive about 2.5 hours, we arrival at Cheorwon city and visit the Second Incursion Tunnel, it was built by the North Korean military in bedrock. It was discovered on March 24, 1975, total length is 3.5km in the 50m-160m below the surface. North Korean built the second Incursion Tunnel to invade South Korea, it could accommodate 30,000 people to pass through per hour. The next stop is Peace observatory. Opened in November 2007, Cheorwon Peace Observatory provides a panoramic view of the border of North & South Korea. The first floor is an exhibition hall and the second floor is an observatory, travelers can enjoy the view of the Cheorwon plain, North Korea, and Demilitarized Zone.Woljeong-ri Station is an abandoned train station located in Cheorwon country, it was constructed in August 1914, this station is one of the stops of Gyeongwon railroad line which connects Seoul and Wonsan. The train was used by North Korean and it bombed by U.N. forces. Now the northeast station of the Gyeongwon railroad line close to the boundary line in the demilitarized zone. There is a signboard written ”The Iron Horse Wants to Run again”, there stand remains of a train that was used to make frequent trips to North Korea.And then we will visit the former Korean workers party office. This office was constructed in 1946. This is the headquarters of the Labor Party until the Korean war began on June 25, 1950. It’s becoming a historical site now. The building and structure destroyed during the Korean war, travelers can still see the bullet holes inside the building.Before back to Seoul, we will relaxing at the Goseokjeong Pavilion, the most beautiful river in Cheorwon city.After the day trip we will back to Seoul at around 6p.m.
