Welcome to San Jacinto

Organized tours (usually operated out of León) typically stop at Los Hervideros de San Jacinto, an expanse of bubbling mud puddles that are likely connected to Volcán Telica. Boiling hot mud spurts up from the steaming holes, making the field an interesting place to walk around. There are no marked trails, so accept the services of the local teenage guides (US$1) who will invariably approach you – they know their way around.
