Getting There & Away

During dry season, the NIC-264 access road is passable in a regular car, but otherwise you'll want a 4WD vehicle for the bumpy ride from the well-signed exit off the Chinandega–Potosí Hwy.

There is only one daily bus from Chinandega to Aserradores, departing from Chinandega's Mercadito at 12:30pm (US$1, 1½ hours) and returning at 5am. Hotels and surf camps offer private transport for around US$90 for one or two people.
