Nicaragua has a rich repertoire of crafts and other souvenirs. Matagalpa is the place for black clay pottery, Estelí is renowned for its fine cigars and leatherwork, while Jinotega is best for gourmet highland coffee. There's good lowland coffee grown in Carazo and on Ometepe. San Juan de Oriente produces exquisite pottery, Masaya specializes in colorful woven hammocks, while the Islas Solentiname are known for their primitivist art and carvings.
