Residents of an upmarket Buenos Aires neighbourhood received a surprise visitor when a young whale was spotted swimming amongst the boats in the Puerto Madero marina.
Huge crowds gathered around the marina and many took to social media to share this unusual sighting. Experts are debating over whether the young whale is a humpback or a minke, but believe it may have swam into the marina after being separated from it’s herd. A police boat attempted to coax the creature down the Rio de La Plata river which leads out to Atlantic, but there have been no reports yet as to whether this was successful. Experts have voiced concerns that the fresh water of the Puerto Madero marina could damage the whale’s health. Read more: bbc.co.uk
