East Village in London is hosting a free wine and cheese festival this spring that will feature special talks and workshops, as well as over 25 independent retailers selling a variety of artisan products.

Taking place from 1 - 2 April, the event will be located in the former Athlete’s Village that was used during the London 2012 Olympic Games. The two-day festival is free to attend, and features a range of special events and informative workshops, including one dedicated to the art of cheese and wine pairing. Stalls will offer delicacies such as Italian gourmet truffle cheese, raclette burgers, cheese arancini and cheese churros. As well as cheese and wine, the event will showcase a range of condiments and chutneys. Visitors will also be able to sample chocolates from award-nominated handcraft chocolatiers Zara’s Chocolate and chocolate sculptures from producer Paul Wayne Gregory.

A range of wine producers will also be at the event, offering selections of reds, whites and sparkling wines as well as artisan ciders, gins and craft beers from Meantime Brewery. A collection of shops, bars and restaurants are also open in the vicinity of the market.

The East Village Cheese and Wine Festival will be open from 12 pm – 6 pm on 1 April and from 11 am – 4 pm on 2 April. More information on visiting the festival is available on the East Village website.
