
Restaurants, bars and nightclubs in Vietnam are to be part of a trial programme in which intoxicated patrons will be given free rides home by staff members. The initiative is intended to help address the problem of drunk driving in the country and reduce the number of traffic accidents. Close to 9000 people were killed in traffic accidents in Vietnam, with just over 24,000 injured, between December 2013 and December 2014. The trial will begin in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang.
