Incredible footage caught on cell phone video appears to show a forest floor in Nova Scotia taking deep breaths.

Brian Nuttall was out for a walk late last month in Apple River when he saw the forest floor beginning to move. Nuttall’s video, which has had over three million views, shows a moss-covered forest floor that heaves as if taking a breath. This isn’t a scene out of Lord of the Rings; what’s actually happening is that a wide network of roots have detached from their moorings in the ground, and each gust of wind that hits the tree canopies shifts the trunks and lifts the roots.
