The US state department issued a travel warning on Sunday that urges US citizens in Burundi to leave "as soon as it is feasible to do so".
Political violence has been increasing in the Central African country, with 87 people killed on Friday when three military sites were attacked. Protests have been breaking out in Burundi since April when President Pierre Nkurunziza announced he would seek a controversial third term in office. The US warning also noted that as its non-emergency government personnel in Burundi are to leave, the embassy will offer only very limited emergency services to US citizens. Read more: bbc.co.uk
