
After yesterday’s terrorist attack in Tunis that left 23 dead - including two gunmen - and 40 wounded, there has been an outpouring of support for Tunisians on Twitter. Hashtags #JeSuisBardo and #JeSuisTunisien were trending, and a solidarity campaign was launched in which many posted pictures of themselves holding signs saying “I will visit Tunisia this summer”. It is feared the attack, in which 18 tourists were killed, will damage Tunisia’s tourism industry which was just starting to recover after a long slump.
Meanwhile, thousands of Tunisians took to the streets to condemn the shootings. Crowds gathered in the centre of Tunis to sing the national anthem and chant slogans against the gunmen. Read more: telegraph.co.uk
