The Metropolitan Parks Committee in David, the capital of the Chiriqui province in Panama, has announced the construction of a new park space that will be the first of its kind in the region.

El Parque Metropolitano de David, or El Pameda, will be a 40 hectare park space designed specifically to foster family and community interaction and to preserve natural resources within the city limits. Officials hope that the park will provide more public space for cultural events, that it will also foster tourism in the area, and that it will provide green alternatives for transportation in the city.
