A trial of a taxi service aimed at foreign tourists launched today in Kyoto.
With a total of 69 taxis from 23 different companies taking part, the trial features cabs that accept credit cards, have more space for luggage, and drivers who are able to speak different languages including English and Chinese. A special stand has been set up at Kyoto Station, the main arrival point for most visitors, with the taxis marked by a ‘Foreign Friendly Taxi’ sign. The trial is set to run for one year.
