A giant wave known as ‘Cribbar’ hit Cornwall this weekend and was ridden by 15-year-old Kamron Matthew, who is believed to be the youngest-ever surfer to have tackled it.

The 20ft wave is named after the rocks on the western edge of Town Head, off Newquay. It only occurs a few times a year, when weather and tides come together, and can be dangerous, thanks to the shallow reef. Two windsurfers were rescued from the waters after coming into difficulty.
