Powerful winds hit parts of Japan on Friday, causing buildings to collapse and leading to evacuations in some parts of the northernmost island of Hokkaidō.

More than 190 train services were cancelled in Hokkaidō, while in Osaka Prefecture airport trains were cancelled, forcing arriving passengers onto alternative services. Some train services were also affected in the Tokyo areas. Read more: japantimes.co.jp
