The main interstate between California and Arizona has been closed after heavy rain caused a bridge to collapse.
The I-10 connects LA with Phoenix, passing through popular destinations like Palm Springs, and authorities say that the damage is so severe that they can’t say when the section of road will reopen. In LA itself, the same storms and the threat of lightning forced the closure of 70 miles of beach and the cancellation of the city’s baseball team’s game for the first time in 20 years.
