A 12.9m statue of the Egyptian pharoah Amenhotep III has been restored, 3200 years after it collapsed in an earthquake. The re-erected statue now shows the pharaoh in a striding pose, after having lain in 89 large pieces and many smaller fragments. The statue is close to the two famous seated colossi in Luxor, which also show Amenhotep III. Read more: theguardian.com
