
Pedestrians in Spain could be breathalysed as part of traffic safety proposals. Alongside plans for tougher drink-driving penalties, Spanish pedestrians could find themselves in trouble if found to be drunk near the scene of a traffic accident. New rules also regulate walking speed as “not surpassing that of a normal stride”. The government is being urged to rethink the proposals which critics argue amount to a ban on jogging and fiestas.
