Representatives from the Dominican company Capsa and the Danish company Desmi have announced a pilot programme to remove large mounds of sargasso seaweed from the Dominican Republic’s normally pristine beaches.
In partnership with the hotels along the affected area, the groups plan to increase efforts to remove the weeds, which have significantly impacted tourism.
