A Russian version of Disneyland will open in Moscow in 2018. Announced as the world’s largest indoor theme park, Dream Island will be built on a site of approximately 100 hectares in the south of Moscow, with construction starting this March.

Because of the harsh Russian climate during the larger part of the year, the authorities have decided to build an indoor theme park so that it can stay open year-round. The design of the 35m-tall building has some similarities with Disneyland’s Cinderella Castle. Dream Island will devote more than 60% of its space to Russian cartoon characters, and the rest will feature international characters. It will also have thematic pavilions and more than 40 rides.
